Meet Joe

Joe is the founder of Horizon Solar and a qualified electrician who lives and breathes solar technology. He’s personable, approachable, and known for clear communication and practical advice—whether you’re new to solar or want to dive into the details.

He actively listens, holds a high standard of workmanship and prefers to assess sites in person, designing systems around your needs and real-world conditions. Customers regularly comment on the care he takes, the tidy finish, and how informed they feel throughout the process.

With a deep love for nature and a mission to reduce fossil-fuel use, Joe’s focused on helping people gain energy independence. Outside of work he’s usually outdoors (mountain biking, skiing, climbing), and as a soon-to-be dad he’s even more committed to building a cleaner future.

Driven by a strong love for nature and a mission to reduce reliance on fossil fuels, Joe is passionate about helping households and businesses move toward energy independence. When he’s not on the tools, you’ll likely find him outdoors—mountain biking, skiing, climbing, and exploring everything the top of the South has to offer. And as a soon-to-be dad, he’s even more committed to building a cleaner, more resilient future for the community.

Meet Sarah

Sarah is the driving force behind the scenes at Horizon Solar. She’s highly engaging, full of energy, and passionate about delivering excellent customer service, making sure every job is organised, every detail is covered, and each install runs smoothly from start to finish.

Sarah enjoys Pilates, keeps active, and will happily jump up on the roof to help with solar array installs when needed. She also has a sharp eye for presentation and performance, and won’t stop until everything looks tidy.

A true caregiver at heart, Sarah goes out of her way to ensure products and equipment are sourced and processed as sustainably as possible. Reliable, proactive, and always thinking ahead, she’s the backbone of the company.
